NJYS Career Development Program

About the Program

This new initiative by NJ Youth Soccer is dedicated to using youth soccer as a vehicle for professional development and career opportunities. The program will educate students on leadership and growth both on and off the field while providing career-themed experiences at NJ Youth Soccer events.

The NJYS Career Development Program offers students three core services:

  • Practical Experience with NJYS events (Hands on experience at NJYS events: Awards Dinner, State Cups, AGM, etc)
  • Professional Training and Networking via webinars (Monthly webinars with industry leaders for networking and career development)
  • One-on-One Career Mentoring (Resume and career building guidance)

Students participating in the program have already benefited from webinars featuring leaders such as Shaun Oliver (Vice President of Operations, NY Red Bulls), Rick Meana (NJYS Director of Coaching), Ellie Carlson (Marketing Coordinator, NJ/NY Gotham FC), and John Archibald (CEO, Resolution Promotions). Future sessions will continue to connect students with a wide range of professionals across the soccer industry.

Additional Benefits:

Along with mentoring and training, the program provides scholarship opportunities, stipends for travel to NJ Youth Soccer events, and access to free training (such as coaching education).

This initiative has been made possible in part by U.S. Soccer’s Innovate to Grow Fund, which supports member organizations in launching innovative programs that grow participation nationwide.

The NJYS Career Development Program is designed to help students gain hands-on involvement, grow their professional network, and create a pathway for future career opportunities.

The Application Process: Students who are interested are encouraged to submit a NJYS Career Development Application (please include a resume) or reach out with interest to breeana@njyouthsoccer.com.
