“The State Cup Finals are a remarkable accomplishment for players, coaches and families,” said Ryan Foley, NJYS Manager of Operations and tournament organizer. “We are thankful for the support of our members, partners, staff and the State Cups Advisory Board in our mission to deliver a memorable championship experience.”
The winners of the National Championship Series and Presidents Cup competitions at the 12U level and above are now presented with the opportunity to compete at the regional level of their respective tournaments. The Eastern Regional Championships and the Eastern Presidents Cup will both take place in West Virginia next summer. In addition, teams will be invited to the NJYS Annual Awards Dinner Presented by RWJBarnabas Health in February 2024.
Deptford SA Premier 12UG coach, Fran Schmutz, spoke to NJ Youth Soccer after the team earned their first-ever opportunity to advance to the Eastern Presidents Cup this June.
“The tournament was great. We experienced great sportsmanship, top-notch competition, and it was a very memorable journey for our girls,” said Schmutz. “A lot of time and emotion was spent to reach this stage, and it was truly a rewarding experience for us all.”
NJ Youth Soccer will also sponsor part of the entry fees for the National Championship Series and Presidents Cup female champions to attend the Women and Girls in Soccer (WAGS) Tournament next October in support of the NJYS Growing the Girls Game (G3) Initiative.
