The US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup kicks off today at the Stryker Sports Complex in Wichita, Kansas, where three New Jersey teams will be fighting for a national title. Those teams include Parsippany Soccer Club Academy Blue (13U Boys), Ocean Township United SA Warriors Red (16U Boys) and Deptford SA Premier (17U Boys).
The US Youth Soccer National (USYS) Presidents Cup provides a progressive, competitive experience to USYS teams that advance past the state and regional stages to compete at the national level. The tournament gives players an opportunity to challenge high-level teams across the country, and it provides the chance to experience a unique USYS Championship with a special focus on camaraderie, community and competition through sport.
Group play competition begins on Froday following Thursday’s player event. The player event provides an opportunity for the athletes to meet their fellow soccer players from all over the country, as well as the opportunity to trade pins, memorabilia, t-shirts and other items that help define your state and culture. Most players participating in previous National Presidents Cup competitions and other USYS hosted events have reported this as being one of their best memories of the competition. Players will have access to a large open area where they can take photographs with the Championship Trophies, mingle and meet their fellow competitors.
Best of luck to the three New Jersey teams competing: Parsippany Soccer Club Academy Blue (13U Boys), Ocean Township United SA Warriors Red (16U Boys) and Deptford SA Premier (17U Boys).
New Jersey is also represented by four referees, who were selected to officiate at the national competition based on outstanding performances at the USYS Eastern Presidents Cup. Brayan Diaz, Mohammed Hassanin and Ryan Kozej and will be officiating at the national competition, along with Becky Amaya serving as a Referee Coach and East Region Head of Delegation.
