New Jersey Youth Soccer is excited to announce open tryouts for the 2026–2027 Olympic Development Program (NJODP), open to players born between 2010 and 2015.
NJODP is a nationally recognized US Youth Soccer identification program for motivated players seeking to compete at the highest levels of the game. Players selected for the state team will have the opportunity to be considered for US Youth Soccer East Region teams, with the potential for national and international competition.

Registration
A one-time $25 tryout registration fee covers participation in all four Stage 1 tryout dates.
If selected, this fee also covers attendance at Stage 2 tryouts.

Selection Process
NJODP will select elite male and female players from each age group to join the final state teams that train and compete throughout the 2026–2027 season.
Evaluation Criteria
Players are evaluated in four key areas:
- Technical Ability
- Tactical Awareness
- Athleticism
- Character and Attitude
All evaluations are conducted by licensed NJYS ODP coaching staff.
Program Overview
Selected players will participate in:
- 6 training sessions
- 5 tournaments
- 3 educational seminars focused on: Mental Toughness, Tactical Awareness, College Recruitment
Each player will also receive a comprehensive end-of-season evaluation.
College Exposure
NJODP provides exposure to college coaches through:
- Staff networking and event presence
- Tournament scouting opportunities
- A dedicated College Recruitment Webinar for 2010, 2011, and 2012 age groups
Club Neutral Program
ODP complements, rather than competes with, club soccer. Our schedule is intentionally designed to reduce conflicts with club commitments while enhancing your child’s development.
Pathway to Regional and National Teams
Players begin at the state level and may be selected to attend the East Region ID Camp based on their performance throughout the year. Top performers may also be considered for interregional and national events.
