Schedules Posted  & Webinar Recording (Updated October 18)

The NJ Youth Soccer Fall State Cups (11U-14U) quarterfinals are now complete. NJYS hosts the semifinals and finals at a neutral site. Teams cannot pre-play or self-schedule the semifinal and final match. Teams should be prepared to pay the referee fees for the semifinal games.  NJYS will conduct a pre-event webinar for teams participating in semifinal and final matches on November 3rd at 12noon. Rosters are now frozen in accordance with the rules of competition. No further additions, including club pass players, may be made for the remainder of the tournament. 

2021-2022 State Cups

The NJ Youth Soccer State Cups provide pathways to be crowned champions of the state, region, and nation. With the National Championship Series, Presidents Cup, and Challenge Cup tournaments, every participating team has the ability to vie for the title of "State Champion.” Check out the information below to begin your journey.

New Jersey Youth Soccer’s 2021-2022 State Cups competitions is hosting the Fall 2021 State Cups, which includes the National Championship Series, Presidents Cup and Challenge Cup.  The tournaments will return to their traditional format with 11U – 14U teams competing in single elimination format this fall. To standardize experiences across the competitions, NJYS has combined the policies and rules for all three competitions into a single document (click here to view).  In addition, NJ Youth Soccer will schedule the semifinals, as well as the finals, at a neutral site. 

National Championship Series 11U -19U/20U


The National Championship Series is the country’s most prestigious national youth soccer tournament, providing winners from each state the opportunity to showcase their soccer skills against the best competition in the nation while emphasizing teamwork, discipline, and fair play.  The winner of the NJYS State Cup U12 teams and above will advance to the 2022 US Youth Soccer Eastern Regional Championships. 

The competition will return to the traditional format, with 11U-14U teams competing in a single elimination format this fall:

  • Fees: 11U-12U (9v9) - $220 (Early), $245 (Regular)
  • Fees: 13U-14U (11v11) - $220 (Early), $245 (Regular)

The 15U-19U (11v11) competition will be held in the Spring of 2022. 

*This competition is recommended for teams participating in the USYS National League Conferences (Team v. Team and Club v. Club), and EDP Premier I and II flighted teams. 

Presidents Cup 11U - 18U/19U


The US Youth Soccer Presidents Cup provides additional challenges to play against teams of similar abilities for a national title. The cup provides a progressive, competitive experience to teams that might not otherwise get the opportunity to participate in a series of unique experiences highlighting competition, camaraderie and community from the state to regional to national levels of US Youth Soccer.  The winner of the NJYS Presidents Cup NJYS State Cup U12 teams and above will advance to the 2022 US Youth Soccer East Region Presidents Cup.

The competition will return to the traditional format, with 11U-14U teams competing in a single elimination format this fall:

  • Fees: 11U-12U (9v9)^ - $220 (Early), $245 (Regular)
  • Fees: 13U-14U (11v11) - $220 (Early), $245 (Regular)

^Teams entering the 9v9 age groups must play in a 9v9 league. 
*This competition is recommended for teams participating in the EDP Premier III, IV, and V flighted teams. 

Challenge Cup 11U-18U/19U


The Challenge Cup (previously branded as the Commissioners Cup) is the NJYS Cup that attracts the most teams and provides a third tier state competition.  This tournament hosts travel teams in the U11 to U19 age groups.  This state-only tournament is designed to create a challenging and enjoyable event for teams that do not play in the National Championship Series or Presidents Cup.

The competition will return to the traditional format, with 11U-14U teams competing in a single elimination format this fall:

  • Fees: 11U-12U (9v9)^ - $170 (Early), $195 (Regular)
  • Fees: 13U-14U (11v11) - $170 (Early), $195 (Regular)

The 15U-19U (11v11) competition will be held in the Spring of 2022. 

^Teams entering the 9v9 age groups must play in a 9v9 league. 
*This competition is recommended for teams participating in the CJYSA-EDP Championships 1-6, MCYSA, Metro, MNJYSA, and MOSA.

Competition Information

Schedule of Play Dates: Please see the NJYS State Cups Play Dates Schedule for Fall 2021.

Game Conflict Resolution Form: To contact NJYS regarding a game scheduling conflict (e.g., unresponsive opponent, not able to agree, scheduling conflict), please see the Game Conflict Resolution Form.

Venues: NJYS will host the semifinals and finals at a neutral site. Teams will be receive home and away designations for Rounds of 64, 32, 16, and quarterfinals., where the home team is responsible for securing a venue and referees. 

Flighting Appeal: The appeals process to compete in a different State Cup competition (e.g. Challenge Cup, Presidents Cup or NCS) is now closed with decisions already communicated by NJ Youth Soccer. In accordance with the Rules of Competition, no appeals can be submitted past the previously communicated deadline of Sunday, August 29th. 

Registration Dates (11U-14U): Early Registration concluded on Aug. 16th and Regular Registration concluded on Aug. 23rd.
