Three New Jersey Youth Soccer teams secured a spot in the US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup after claiming a Northeast Presidents Cup Championship in their respective age groups, with a fourth team also reaching the final round. Lifting the trophy was New Jersey Surf South Shore (14U Girls), Passaic FC Academy (19U Boys), and Torpedoes Red (19U Girls), while Highland Youth Soccer Club Elite Swarm (13U Girls) also represented New Jersey as finalists.

New Jersey Surf South Shore captured the 14U Girls Northeast Presidents Cup championship with a commanding 2-0 victory over Simsbury SC Inferno (CT) in the final. The championship match served as a rematch of a hard-fought 1-1 draw between the two sides during group play, setting the stage for an exciting battle with the title on the line. New Jersey Surf South Shore put together an impressive tournament run, finishing group play with two wins and one draw before advancing through the knockout rounds. The girls were dominant on both sides of the ball throughout the weekend, outscoring their opponents 12-2 en route to the title.

“From the onset the girls were fixated on performing well and exciting for the opportunity to be able to win a regional tournament,” said head coach Leon Brown. “Over four days of competition, the girls competed tremendously, finishing with three winds and one tie. scoring 12 goals while conceding just two. Their determination, teamwork, and resilience were on full display throughout the tournament. The final was a fiercely competitive battle, and the girls showed outstanding character, composure, and grit to earn a well-deserved 2-0 win. I’m incredibly proud of the girls and are excited to represent New Jersey on the national stage at Nationals. The hard work continues, and we can’t wait for the next challenge.”

Passaic FC Academy added another championship trophy to New Jersey’s collection, claiming the 19U Boys Northeast Presidents Cup title with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Peak Football Academy (VT) in the final.

Passaic FC was dominant throughout the competition, winning all of its group play matches to secure a place in the championship game. The final proved to be a competitive battle, but Passaic FC rose to the occasion and emerged victorious to capture the regional crown. The New Jersey side showcased both attacking firepower and defensive discipline throughout the event, scoring 10 goals while conceding just two.

“We are very proud of our boys for their commitment, hard work, and dedication they displayed in these last few months,” said coach Jonathan Calixto. “We were thrilled to represent New Jersey over the weekend and obtain the ticket to Nationals.”

Torpedoes Red captured the 19U Girls Northeast Presidents Cup championship with a thrilling 2-1 victory over Towamencin Youth Association Force (PAE) in the final. The championship match served as a rematch after Torpedoes fell to the Pennsylvania side during group play, making the victory even more gratifying.

The championship continues an impressive run of success for the club. This marks the fourth consecutive year that the girls have competed in the Eastern Presidents Cup, and their third Eastern Presidents Cup championship in the last four years, further cementing their status as one of the region’s premier programs.

“We are incredibly proud of our U19 Girls for capturing back-to-back Regional Presidents Cup titles!” said head coach Andy Meany. “Building on last year’s U17 regional success, the girls secured the U19 Regional Presidents Cup Championship this past weekend. Over the last four years, under the leadership of Coach Andy Meany and Coach Matt Leone, this group has achieved an outstanding record—winning four consecutive Presidents Cup titles and two Regional Championships. Their consistency, commitment, and team-first mentality have been exceptional.”

Coach Meany also spoke about the incredible ride that this team has enjoyed over the years.

“What makes this team even more special is the journey. Many of these players have been with Torpedoes since they were 7 and 8 years old, and the squad brings together players ranging from 8th grade through senior year of high school. It’s a fantastic mix of ages and experience, with a group that genuinely enjoys being together and plays for one another every time they step on the field. Congratulations again to all of the players, coaches, and families on an incredible achievement.”

Highland Youth Soccer Club Elite Swarm put together an impressive run at the 13U Girls Northeast Presidents Cup, battling through a challenging group stage to finish first in their bracket with two wins and one draw. Their strong performances earned them a spot in the championship match against Stamford FC (CT), a team they had previously tied during group play. Carrying momentum into the final, Highland looked to complete their championship journey against a familiar opponent. Despite their determination and hard-fought effort, Stamford FC proved too strong in the title match, earning a 3-0 victory to claim the championship.

Hosted by US Youth Soccer, the Presidents Cup provides a progressive, competitive environment for teams seeking a series of unique challenges highlighting competition, camaraderie and community.
