New Jersey Youth Soccer hosted its Spring State Cup Championships over the past two weekends, crowning champions in the 15U-19U National Championship Series, Presidents Cup and Challenge Cup. During the final round of competitions, the top teams in the state battled extreme weather at times for the opportunity to be recognized as champions in their respective tournament and age group.
Across the three tournament tiers, overall participation in NJYS Spring State Cups exceeded 1,000 teams for the third consecutive season. With excessive rainfall being a constant hurdle throughout April, many teams were matched with a long and challenging road to the finals.
“After a mild weekend for our 18U and 19U finals, our 15U to 17U teams had to face heavy rain in their finals this past weekend,” said Nicole Petras, NJYS Events Coordinator. “However, the weather did not seem to affect their celebrations or their excitement. They celebrated just as hard and cherished every moment of their victory. New Jersey Youth Soccer is proud of all the teams that competed this year, and we are excited to support our National Championship Series and Presidents Cup winners in regional play.”
The winners in the National Championship Series and Presidents Cup are now presented with the opportunity to compete on the regional stage for their respective tournaments. National Championship Series winners head to Loudoun, Virginia, while Presidents Cup champions will compete in the Eastern Presidents Cup that takes places in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania.

The Challenge Cup, formerly branded as the Commissioners Cup, is the NJYS State Cup designed to create a challenging and enjoyable event for teams outside of the National Championship Series and Presidents Cup.
