New Jersey Youth Soccer continues its celebration of the NJYS Awards Presented by RWJBarnabas Health, officially announcing Giancarlo Riotto of Delaware Valley Youth Soccer Club as the 2022 NJYS Recreation Coach of the Year. Each year, this award highlights the accomplishments and dedication that a recreation level coach has displayed to their players and community.

“I am extremely honored to be receiving the 2022 NJYS Recreation Coach of the Year Award,” said Coach Riotto. “I am very grateful for the recognition I have received for my work as a coach in my community. Academic based athletics are extremely important to the development of our children. It builds character, promotes healthy lifestyles, develops positive work ethics, and creates friendships and memories that will last a lifetime. I am dedicated to a lifetime of service to my community and will continue to lead by example in all things that I do. Again, thank you for the honor of this award. I will forever be grateful.”

For more than a decade, Giancarlo Riotto has been coaching boys and girls teams in his local community at many different levels. He is a respected leader who attempts to guide and motivate players to pursue their goals, both on and off the field. During his time at Delaware Valley Youth Soccer Club, Coach Riotto has created an environment to help players succeed while teaching them important lessons on sportsmanship and working together as a team.

The mission statement of Delaware Valley Youth Soccer Club is to foster a safe, fun and recreational environment for all children and members while providing each child with a fair opportunity to participate, and to emphasize sportsmanship and fair play. This philosophy is definitely emulated by Coach Riotto each time he steps onto the field.

NJ Youth Soccer held its 2023 NJYS Annual Awards Dinner Presented by RWJBarnabas Health this past February, where many players, coaches and guests of the soccer community were on hand at the Pines Manor in Edison, N.J. With more than 1,000 attendees, the event saw a capacity crowd in attendance for the annual celebration.
