NJYS State Cups Registration Deadline Approaching

The registration deadline for the NJYS Fall 2022 State Cups is quickly approaching, with the enrollment process officially closing on Tuesday, September 6th. The NJYS State Cups include the National Championship Series, Presidents Cup and Challenge Cup, and the competition will feature 11U-14U teams in single elimination format this fall.

To standardize experiences across all competitions, NJ Youth Soccer has combined the policies and rules for all three competitions into a single document and has updated the roster freeze policy to be more accommodating for play-in games. Additionally, NJ Youth Soccer will schedule the semifinals for 11U to 14U age groups, as well as the finals for all age groups, at a neutral site.

To register, teams will need to apply to NJYS State Cups on Sports Connect, where they will indicate a preferred tournament based on their league flighting. To ease the administrative burden for club administrators and coaches, NJ Youth Soccer will use a single registration to manage all three tournaments.  The NJYS State Cups provide pathways to be crowned champions of the state, region and nation. With the National Championship Series, Presidents Cup and Challenge Cup tournaments, every participating team has the ability to vie for the title of “State Champion” in their age group and bracket.

The National Championship Series is the country’s most prestigious national youth soccer tournament, providing winners from each state the opportunity to showcase their soccer skills against the best competition in the nation while emphasizing teamwork, discipline, and fair play. The winner of the NJYS State Cup at the U12 level and above will advance to the US Youth Soccer Eastern Regional Championships.

The Presidents Cup provides additional challenges to play against teams of similar abilities for a national title. The cup provides a progressive, competitive experience to teams that might not otherwise get the opportunity to participate in a series of unique experiences highlighting competition, camaraderie and community from the state to regional to national levels of US Youth Soccer. The winner of the NJYS Presidents Cup NJYS State Cup at the U12 level and above will advance to the US Youth Soccer Eastern Regional Presidents Cup.

The Challenge Cup is the NJYS State Cup that attracts the most teams and provides a third-tier state competition. This tournament hosts travel teams in the 11U to 19U age groups. This state-only tournament is designed to create a challenging and enjoyable event for teams that do not play in the National Championship Series or Presidents Cup.
