New Jersey Youth Soccer is proud to congratulate the 35 members of New Jersey ODP who were selected to participate in the US Youth Soccer ODP Interregional Event at the Omni Orlando Resort in Orlando, Florida.

“New Jersey continues to develop outstanding soccer players,” said James Galanis, NJYS Director of Technical Operations. This year, we had 35 players invited to the USYS Interregional Event. It is rewarding to see New Jersey players go through ODP and then be identified for such an amazing event. These players have now had the opportunity to test their skills against players from around the country."

The Eastern ODP Regional Team was pitted against top competition from the West, Midwest and South at the USYS Interregional Events, which were held in November.

“The event was a rewarding and fun experience,” said Jeremy Chiappetta, who represented New Jersey on the 2008 Interregional Team and is also a member of STA Soccer Academy. “It was exciting to compete with highly skillful players from other regions. Competing at that level makes you step up your game.”

Established in 1977, US Youth Soccer ODP
was the first program in the country that was created to identify potential youth national team players. Programs exist in each state, and participants are exposed to the nation's top coaches from collegiate institutions, U.S. Soccer and professional leagues. With competitions such as the US Youth Soccer ODP Championships, Interregional Training/Competition, Regional Camps and international play, US Youth Soccer ODP continues to lead the way in elite player identification and development.
