New Jersey Youth Soccer has launched an NJYS Legends Video Series, where New Jersey ODP Technical Director James Galanis hosts online conversations with current and former professional players from the State of New Jersey. The conversations feature various topics that are relative to each guest, from sharing their best at-home training methods to reflecting back upon playing in New Jersey ODP and other NJYS programming.
In this conversation, Galanis speaks with Yael Averbuch West, who has enjoyed an incredible professional career as a player, executive and entrepreneur. The current Executive Director of the National Women's Soccer League Players Association, Averbuch won two NCAA College Cup championships (North Carolina), two Women's Professional Soccer titles (Sky Blue FC, Western New York Flash), one National Women's Soccer League championship (FC Kansas City) and earned 26 caps with the U.S. Women's National Team as a player. The New Jersey native also founded and developed Techne Futbol, which helps players develop their soccer ball mastery at home with guidance and curriculum.
