NJ Youth Soccer is pleased to host all-girls 4v4 Festivals sponsored by Wilson Trophy.
These Festivals, rooted in the NJYS 4v4 Club Foundation Program, uses the smallest version of the game that has all of the elements of a real full sided game but in a space that young children can more easily understand and learn the game of soccer. Click here to view a story and video from our events this past Fall. Players and coaches will benefit from a fun hour of open play and friendly competition/participation.
The 4v4 game format makes learning and developing fun because players are constantly in close contact with the ball, maximizing participation and engagement, and accelerating skill acquisition and game intelligence of all players involved. Use a pool of players rather than distinct teams; what better way to develop your “in-house” program by having everyone train and play. This approach allows players to train and play with a variety of other kids based on numbers, ability, age, height, weight, etc. Formal games, referees, and rosters are not needed at this age so playing with and against teammates provides a flexible and fluid approach.
- Results and standings will not be recorded, and this event will limit travel time for participants.
- Provide fun, encouraging and safe soccer learning environments are our top priorities.
Event dates and locations will be announced later this summer.
