Recreation Registration

Thank you for joining us for another exciting soccer season and we greatly appreciate your support. We are focused on creating more value for our recreation programs and encourage you to reach out anytime to learn more about the resources and opportunities below that are available to you as a registered program:

  • Support and Guidance from USSF A Licensed staff: Rick Meana, NJYS Director of Coaching (coach@njyouthsoccer.com), leads a nationally licensed coaching staff that is dedicated to developing and improving coaches so that players maximize their potential at all ages and levels. He and his team of coaches are a resource to your program.
  • Coaching Education: NJ Youth Soccer Coaching School Instructors are available to come out to your location and hold a 3 hour "Y" "coaching essentials" course designed to provide volunteer parent coaches of athletes age 12 and younger participating at the recreation level the basic essentials to get on the field. Coaches will come away from the course with a solid understanding of fundamental coaching principles and methods, and basic coaching responsibilities. The course meets the NJ State Minimum Safety Training Standards for Volunteer Youth Coaches. Click here for information on our coaching schools and related programs.
  • Parent Support and Engagement Education: NJ Youth Soccer Coaching School Instructors are available to come out to your location and hold a free 1.5 hour workshop designed for your parents. Topics of discussion include how can you best support your youngsters development as a player, addressing the most common pathways to destruction of a young player, what is (and is not) the number one motivational factor for children, what happened on drive home, what zaps a child's motivation, what does becoming your child's best fan really mean. Contact coach@njyouthsoccer.com to learn more and schedule your workshop.
  • Footworks: NJ Youth Soccer Coaching School Instructors will come out to your location to observe, provide advice, recommendations, strategies for effective implementation of developmentally appropriate training and playing formats at no cost to the club. Footworks is a comprehensive educational process that combines a teaching methodology, curriculum, and consulting services, focused on best practices to develop basic movement skills and ball control. The goal is to develop young soccer players who are not only more competent, but more confident and as a result and more motivated to play. Click here to apply to host.
  • Accident Insurance for players and coaches and Directors and Officers coverage for board members: See NJYS website (click here) for details.
  • Celebration of Soccer: NJ Youth Soccer sponsors several events each year called "Celebration of Soccer." This experience is based on "pure self-discovery and experimentation" where like a "street soccer" learning environment, there are no coaches or referees. The players are making their own decisions, policing the game. Players have complete ownership of the game while enjoying bonus features like professional player appearances, demos as well as music playing throughout the event.
  • Special Events: Receive invitations to participate in special events such as NJYS Nights at Red Bulls and Sky Blue FC. Join us for Youth Soccer Month events in September to celebrate the game at local colleges.
  • Partner Discounts: Receive member discounts from our roster or partners such as Wilson Trophy Company, Sky Blue FC, New York Red Bulls and more.
  • NJYS Recreation Club of the Year: Each year a recreation club is recognized as the NJYS Recreation Club of the Year and honored at our Annual Awards Dinner.
  • NJYS Recreation Coach of the year: Each year a recreation coach is recognized as the NJYS Recreation Club of the Year and honored at our Annual Awards Dinner.
  • Town Meetings: NJ Youth Soccer is proud to sponsor town meetings between NJYS officials and representatives from our member clubs. The meeting provides general descriptions of NJYS programs offered to affiliated clubs.

Sincerely,
