New Coaching Education Opportunities

We are excited to announce several new coaching education opportunities for all levels launching in 2018.

US Soccer National C License: Meeting 1: August 5-12, 2018; and Meeting 2: October 12-14, 2018 at Rowan University in Glassboro, N.J. The C course consists of two separate meetings separated by a development period. Candidates have the opportunity to practically apply what they have learned in their home environment with their own team between these meetings. The second and final meeting will include candidate assessment. Registration will take place directly through the US Soccer Digital Coaching Center. For more information and to register click here.

Participants at U.S. Soccer's National Coaching Schools will have the opportunity to earn a nationally recognized license from U.S. Soccer, a member of Federacion Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), and the governing body of soccer in all its forms in the United States.

US Soccer Grassroots Licenses and the NJYS F Course: Back in December US Soccer announced that on January 31, 2018 eight (8) new grassroots level coaching courses would be released. The new Grassroots Licensing Courses will consist of four (4) in-person experiences and four (4) online experiences. Prospective coaches will have 8 options relevant to their needs and specific coaching environment. These courses will be focused on empowering coaches through experiential learning and a player-centered approach. The course options will relate directly to small-sided games and the respective age-groups outlined in the Player Development Initiatives.

To keep in line with the new national curriculum as well as provide a vehicle for member coaches to satisfy the NJ Little League Law, New Jersey Youth Soccer has been working on a course that will combine both curricula into one course. If you plan on coaching a travel team this spring, we would like to test our program and need your feedback. As such, we have scheduled two pilot courses: Saturday 9am-2pm January 27 in West Orange, NJ and Sunday January 28 in Deptford, NJ.

Participants at either of these pilot courses will not only satisfy the NJYS requirement for Travel Coaches but, as of January 31, 2018, will have earned a nationally recognized license from U.S. Soccer, a member of FIFA, and the governing body of soccer in all its forms in the United States.

US Youth Soccer National Youth Coaching Course: June 18-22, 2018 at Red Bull Arena and Riverfront Park in Newark, NJ. The US Youth Soccer National Youth Coaching Course is a five-day course that combines both classroom (theory) and practical (field) sessions, and it concludes with written, oral and practical examinations. Candidates will be videotaped throughout the course; they will leave with a better understanding of the adjustments that adults must make in order to become a better and more effective teacher and coach to our young players. We hope you take advantage of these great opportunities! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact us.
