Part of the mission of New Jersey Youth Soccer is to provide coaching education to those involved in the game. To accomplish this mission, NJYS offers a complete coaching schools program.  You can also find material on line to help you become a better coach.

Coaching Schools Program:  The New Jersey Youth Soccer Coaching Schools program is designed to address the needs of the American youth player and coach.   The NJYS State "F" License, National "E", and National "D" License Courses are taught by the New Jersey Youth Soccer Coaching Schools Instructors.  Note: NJYS requires the National "E" License as a prerequisite for the National "D" License course.  NJYS will also host on an annual basis the 5 day National Youth License. 

NJYS Coaching Schools also offers other informal clinics specially designed for the novice Recreational Level Coach in the form of the 3 hour "Y" Clinic, AND can also tailor informal 2-3 hour on field and/or in classroom specialty clinics to suit your needs.  For more information on the Licenses and clinics mentioned above contact the NJYS Director of Coaching.  

US Soccer Federation National License Courses:  US Soccer conducts 9 day residential courses the National "C", and National "B" Licenses leading all the way to the National "A" License.  You can find a listing of the currently scheduled National courses at US Soccer's Coaching Education web site.  Note: When possible NJYS will attempt to host the National "C" License Course (see above).

Online Resources:  The Internet provides a wealth of coaching education resources.  The Soccer Coaches Mail List provides on going discussion of problems and techniques that the soccer coaches encounters every day.  For information about subscribing to this list, click here

New York Red Bulls and NSCAA
Host Special Topics Course vs. Philadelphia Union on 4/16
 


 
As part of New York Red Bulls partnership with the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), a Special Topics Diploma course entitled “Reading the Game” will be held on Wednesday April 16, in conjunction with the Red Bulls MLS match against Philadelphia Union.
 
Course Focus:  The workshop will focus on match analysis and will help coaches understand how this important skill can be used to develop players individually and as a team.
 
Course Structure: The workshop will be held in conjunction with a Red Bulls professional MLS game. Prior to the match, attendees will participate in a three hour workshop delivered by a Senior NSCAA Staff Instructor. The course will also include a pre-game chalk talk by a Red Bulls coach and field level viewing of the warm-ups. Following the match a post-game debrief will be conducted.
 
Cost: The course fee is $95.00 which includes one match ticket.  Any candidates taking the course who have never been an NSCAA member previously will receive a free one year NSCAA Introductory Membership. This applies to new members only.
 
Course Times: 3:30p.m. to 10:00p.m. (Game kicks off at 7:30pm)
