The Brett Fenster Memorial Scholarship was established by New Jersey Youth Soccer as a way to help one of our youth soccer players further their education.  Brett played soccer from the age of five until he graduated from High School. He began participating in the Recreation Program in West Windsor and moved on to play travel and high school soccer.  Brett’s love for the sport flourished along with his interest in the arts and humanity. Brett passed away in 2010 at the age of 23, at which time the scholarship was enacted.

In honor of Brett Fenster, New Jersey Youth Soccer will award a $1,000 scholarship to one male and one female high school senior, who plans to further their education by attending a 2 or 4-year college or an accredited technical school.

When selecting the winner for the Brett Fenster Memorial Scholarship the following key considerations will be evaluated:

1.       Applicant participation with an affiliated NJYS Club.

2.       Applicant has overcome a meaningful hurdle in his or her journey towards higher education.
