The Chevy Cup is a festival type play date for U12/U11s boys and girls, both recreation and travel teams.  Games will be played on April 26 (Saturday) for boys teams and April 27 (Sunday) for girls teams at the Friendship Fields in Bordentown [Directions].   The registration fee is $50 per team.

NJYS will group teams into small team flights.  Teams will be grouped on ability and strength based on the information supplied by the coach when the team registers. Travel teams will play other travel teams and recreation teams will play recreation teams.  Each team will play two games. Points will be awarded based on the game result:

3 points for a win
1 point for a tie
0 points for a loss

If two teams are tied on points after all games in the flight are completed, the team with the largest number of total goals scored will be the flight winner.  Only four goals per game will be counted in determining the flight winner.

The team with the highest point total in each flight will be the flight winner. Each winning team member will receive Chevy medals.

The game length will be 50 minutes, with no break at the half. At 25th minute, the referee will stop play, keepers will change ends and play will resume with the second half kick off.  There will be free substitution, but the referee will have the right to deny a substitution if, in the opinion of the referee, the team is trying to waste time. Substitutions will be made with the referee's permission on goal kicks, throw-ins, kick offs. A complete set of rules for the Chevy Cup can be found here.

During the day there will also be activities for players and clinics for coaches and teams.  Players will receive a t-shirt and lunch.  There will be door prizes and other giveaways during the day.
